In this Dutch folklore-inspired historical drama musical, 15-year-old STIEN wants to become a renowned sculptor like her adoptive mother Truus. But when Truus is accused of witchcraft for the creation of the Basilisk that has been turning people into stone with its deadly stare, will Stien be able to right this injustice by defeating a monster, or will the tragic circumstances drag Stien into the Basilisk's curse? This is a film about overcoming life's injustices, resisting the temptation to exact revenge, and ultimately learning to forgive others as well as oneself.
